Speedway 51 owner, Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, Vermont, is pleased to announce that former racer, Steve Patnaude, has joined the staff at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group.
Steve Patnaude will be taking over the weekly announcing chores at the track, from former announcer, Dick Therrien whom is stepping away from the microphone due to health reasons. The Pittsburg, New Hampshire native accepted the position this past weekend and is anxious for the racing season to get here!
“I’ve always wanted to be the announcer at Speedway 51, stated Patnaude. I raced for a lot of years here, and myself, and my wife Wanda have always considered the former Riverside Speedway and now Speedway 51 our home away from home. I operate my own DJ service and I enjoy bantering with the crowd at all my events. I know an awful lot about racing from the driver’s point of view, now I will get the opportunity to chat about the sport every week. This is going to be a blast! Dick has agreed to help me out as I get started and we will work hard to entertain the crowd.”
