The annual Mom’s North Country Powersports Fall Brawl took place this past Saturday at Speedway 51 in Groveton, New Hampshire and winners included Bobby Therrien, Jason Woodard, Ryan Ware, Jamie Heath and Evan Roberts.
The Lil Joey Generation Next Late Model 151 saw a full field of North Country Ford Late Models taking the green. Nick Sweet jumped out front early and was well in control until disaster struck as he was passing a lapped car. Both cars spun and Sweet suffered heavy rearend damage ending his night. Bobby Therrien inherited the lead and he took off and ran away from the field numerous times as caution waved continuously from lap 45 through lap 90. Finally the field settled down after a hard backstretch crash between Jamie Aube and Claude LeClerc. Therrien then cruised onto victory finishing ahead of Josh Masterson, Marcel Gravel, Quinney Welch and Bryan Mason completing the top five. Stacy Cahoon, Jean Philippe Bergeron, Stephen Donahue, Corey Mason and Jonathan Bouvrette rounded out the top ten. Quinney Welch, Jonathan Bouvrette and Mike Kenison won their respective qualifiers. This was the third Fall Brawl victory for Bobby Therrien.
Jason Woodard held off a determined Dwayne Lanphear in the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman 51 lap main event. Lanphear made a pass in traffic on turn four coming to the two lap indicator, but the caution flew, thus negating his brilliant negotiating of the lapped traffic. Woodard got the jump on the restart and led the final two laps for the victory. Stephen Martin raced home third ahead of Mike Macaskil, and Jason Kenison. Jason Pelkey, Jared Plumley, Jon Boutin, Colin Cornell and Reilly Lanphear rounded out the top ten. Heat checkers flew for Travis Calkins, Dwayne Lanphear and Jason Pelkey.
Ryan Ware grabbed the victory in a hotly contested Caron Fabrication Street Stock main event as he held off Danny Doyle, Kasey Beattie, Nick Pilotte, and Bryan Wall Jr. Ware was also victorious in his heat race, as was Danny Doyle in his.
Jamie Heath captured a highly entertaining win in the White Mountains Community College Cyclone / Warrior main event. Jon Savage, Matt Mason, Chris Ouellette and Nick Pilotte finished second through fifth under a blanket. Heath and Chris Ouellette won the heat races.
Evan Roberts made the long haul from Fletcher, Vermont worthwhile as he scored a popular win in the Claudette & Dean’s Place Daredevil main event. Roberts outdistanced Nick Ogden, Jesse Laquerre, Jaxon Edwards, and Cierra Sweet. Roberts also won the qualifying round.
