North Country Family Restaurant Karts at Speedway 51 Powered by the Autosaver Group

The North Country Family Restaurant Karts were back in action at Lil’ Speedway 51 for the Joel Kennett Memorial Championship Event.  A very appropriate and thoughtful  blessing was delivered by Jr. Mini Pro race mom Jen Gilbert followed by the National Anthem being sung by Jr. Mini Pro driver Summer Boutin.

Christopher “Cridda” Shannon of Lancaster, NH drove his #111 Snips Plus sponsored kart from the rear into the front in the Batch’s Kwik Stop Pro feature with intensity as he had the championship on his mind.   Following Shannon to the checkered flag was Cody Brown of Groveton, NH and Julian Kenison of Groveton, NH rounded out the top three in the DK & Sons Auto Repair sponsored kart.  Brown won his respective heat and Kenison won the popular Batch’s Kwik stop Trophy Dash.  Shannon will be crowned 2017 champion at the Speedway 51 Banquet of Champions in a few months.

Luke Shannon drove a very cool race even though he was a nervous young man going into the event.  Shannon is the 2017 champion for the second year in a row narrowly beating Jesse Laquerre.   The Batch’s Kwik Stop Mini Pro drivers put on a heck of a show with the points battle on their minds.  Shannon won his heat, trophy dash and feature event.  Following Shannon across the line was Cooper Robinson of Lancaster, NH and Makita Giroux our wild Canadian.

The enthusiastic drivers in the Batch’s Kwik Stop Jr. Mini Pro division once again drove like veterans.  Feature winners were Logan Farnsworth of St. Jonsbury, VT. and Evan Gilbert of Gorham, NH. Gilbert and Farnsworth won their heats and McKenna Merchant of North Concord, VT won the trophy dash.  Kaiden Fisher is the 2017 champion of this awesome division.

The fans were treated to another fun race in the Batch’s Kwik Stop Rookie division with Conner Charbonneau of Groveton, NH in the Action Jackson Powersports sponsored kart taking home the win followed by Chloe Moodie.  Moodie won the heat and trophy dash.  Charbonneau is the 2017 champion.  The season is over the the North Country Family Restaurant karts.  The final event for them will be the Speedway 51 Fall Brawl weekend.  Please look for updates as this event will be a good one!
