MIKE CLARK CLAIMS TIGER TRIPLE CROWN SERIES RACE #2 SWITSER JR. AND FISHER ALSO WINNERS

Saturday night action at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group once again saw some exciting action, with super close finishes which have become the norm at the high banked ¼ mile Speedway in Groveton, New Hampshire. Winners on the night included Mike Clark, Dean Switser Jr., and Kaiden Fisher.

 

It was Round #2 for the Caron Fabrication Triple Crown Series for the Dalton Mountain Motorsports / Caron’s Towing. Tiger Sportsman and it was a race that kept everyone on their feet from the green flag to the checkers. The 75 lap main event had only a couple of yellows leaving long runs of racing for this always exciting division. Mike Clark grabbed the early lead from polesitter, Philip Potvin.  Rookie Jared Plumley battled hard with Potvin to pick up the second spot. Potvin clung to the third position until just past the halfway mark as Nick Gilcris raced by and set his sights Plumley and passed him at lap 54. The final caution flew setting up a battle between Clark and Gilcris. The pair ran side by side for 14 laps before Clark regained the point and the win. Second through fifth were Gilcris, Plumley, Kevin Boutin and Derrick Calkins. Gilcris has taken over the point lead by a mere point over Calkins. Clark and Plumley won their qualifying rounds.

Dean Switser Jr. won for the fifth time in 2019 as he held off a late race charge from last week’s winner, Alan Birch. Josh Plumley placed third. Switser carried the heat checkers.

Kaiden Fisher struggled with mechanical problems last week but came back strong to capture the win in the Claudette & Dean’s Place Daredevils as he outdistanced Julian Birch and newcomer Dominic Warren. Cassi Leonard and Mekaylah Bowen raced home fourth and fifth. Fisher also nailed down the heat win.

It’s a huge weekend this Saturday night at Speedway 51 will be right back in action next Saturday night as The 350 S.M.A.C. Super Modified Tour hits the high banks of Speedway 51. Also on the card will be Tiger Sportsman, Street Stocks, Daredevils, and Bone Stocks, plus Spectator Drags, and the Passumpsic Bank Kids Penny Scramble.
