It was bone chilling cold outside but it did not deter over 160 race vehicles and close to 1,500 race fans from attending the 2019 Winter Blast 100 at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group in Groveton, New Hampshire. Jesse Hinton was declared the winner of the main event.
161 cars, trucks, vans, ambulances and more started the race on a rolling start and cruised well until the track became totally blocked with dead and crashed vehicles. Thanks to Chris Caron with his fork loader, and Arsenault Towing Service the field got untangled and off they went. As the race wound down, the leader apparently was Jason Wyman, but unfortunately his scorer missed a lap, thus giving the win to Jesse Hinton. Wyman was scored second ahead of Robert Burbank, Cody Hodge and Joe Grenier. Nathan Woodworth was 6th, Reggie Theroux 7th, Colin Cornell 8th, David Potter 9th and Doug Bandy rounded out the top 10. The North Country Family Restaurant Best Dressed Vehicle Award went to Seth Drown from Alfred, Maine.
The entire Speedway 51 family would like to thank White Mountains Community College, Mom’s North Country Powersports, Batch’s Kwik Stop, Optical Expression, Berlin, Vermont, Around the Clock Auto Repair, NEK Trophies and the North Country Family Restaurant for their sponsorship of the Winter Blast 100.
