JAKE MCDOWELL MEMORIAL GOES TO BUNKER HODGDON CHAMPIONSHIPS ON TAP THIS WEEK

The summer racing season has come and gone at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group in Groveton, New Hampshire, as the season begins to wind down at the ¼ mile, high banked track and the next to the last point counting event saw some of the best racing of the season.

SS819

Sign Depot and Pepsi presented the return of the Jake McDowell Street Stock Memorial Classic. McDowell was a fan favorite that tragically lost his life in 2007. The event is the most prestigious Caron Fabrication Street Stock race on the calendar. The race was divided into three segments. Segment number one went to Kevin Streeter, while Allan Birch upset the field in the second segment. Three drivers were all tied with six points each heading into the final leg of the race. Jeff Murray outraced the field for the win, but Bunker Hodgdon scored the overall victory over Streeter, Brett Rowell, Dylan Laleme and Jeff Murray.

TGR819

Brendan Moodie got back to his winning ways in the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman feature as he defeated Ryan Boutin, Derrick Calkins, Kyle Streeter and Brian Gosselin. Floyd Bennett Jr. won the qualifying round.

DD819

Makita Giroux captured his first ever victory in the A.B. Excavation Daredevil Youth Racer main event. Giroux started on the pole and never looked back. Alexus Call, Kyle Labounty, Hunter King and newcomer, Julian Kenison completed the top five. Garrett Labounty scored a popular win in the preliminary round.

CYCL819

Chris Ouellette extended his point lead in the White Mountains Community College Cyclones division as he held off a very determined Garrett Labounty to carry the checkered flag. Nick Gilcris, Travis Moulton, and Matt Mason followed the lead pair home. Moulton nailed down the qualifier victory.

ANG819

Twisted Tea Angels point leader Vanessa Brown-Savage nipped Shawna Whitcomb by a hood pin to keep her undefeated streak alive. Alexus Call and Jenna Randall followed on the lead pairs heels. Call won the lone heat race.
