Opening night at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group proved to be one great night of racing with photo finishes and tight racing dominated Mom’s of Lancaster night. Winners included Doug Laleme, Craig Bushey, Kasey Beattie, Keegan Lamson, Jake Matheson and Nickolas Hovey.
The North Country Ford Late Models ran three 17 lap segments on opening night. Brad Bushey grabbed the win in segment number one as he defeated Brendan Moodie, Doug Laleme and Mike Giroux. Round two went to Laleme as he held off Moodie, Bushey and Giroux. The final segment saw Laleme run down Bushey on the last lap and squeaked out the win, thus giving him the overall title for the night. This was Laleme’s first career Late Model victory. Bushey placed second ahead of Moodie and Giroux.
Craig Bushey held off a determined Nick Gilcris to capture the Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman feature. The pair ran side by side for 17 laps before Bushey edged ahead on the backstretch of the final lap and nipped Gilcris by a fender. Kevin Boutin, Ryan Boutin and Bunker Hodgdon completed the top five. Bushey carried the checkers in the qualifying heat.
Thirteen year old Kasey Beattie dominated the Caron Fabrication Street Stock 25 lapper. Brent Ming rolled home second ahead of Dean Switser Jr., Justin Town and Tyler Pepin. Beattie and Tyler Pepin scored heat wins.
Keegan Lamson raced by leader Jesse Dunham on the last lap and scored a photo finish victory. Makita Giroux claimed the third spot ahead of Hunter King and Laci Potter. Lamson also was victorious in the preliminary round.
Jake Matheson won the Granite State Legend feature and Nickolas Hovey was the Bandolero’s winner.
Speedway 51 will be back in action next Saturday night as all six regular divisions will be racing including the North Country Ford Late Models, Perras Ace Hardware Tiger Sportsman, Caron Fabrication Street Stocks, White Mountains Community College Cyclones, Daredevils and Angels.
