DISMAL WEATHER FORECAST FORCES SPEEDWAY 51 TO CANCEL RACING AND MEMORIAL DAY FESTIVITIES

For the second consecutive week a dismal forecast for Saturday night has forced Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group to cancel all racing activities for Saturday night, May 25th.

“This is really getting disappointing canceling for the second week in a row stated Promoter, Dick Therrien. We have done our homework and we have drivers and fans that come a long way to race and enjoy our program, and this being Memorial Day weekend it is a major event for us and all area race tracks. We have checked all weather services, airports, the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium and several internet sites and they are all saying that we will be inundated with showers late afternoon and throughout the evening. We always put our race teams and fans first and we called the event early so that they can make alternate plans with their families for the holiday weekend”

Speedway 51 will try again Saturday, June 1 at 6pm. The night will feature Round #1 of the Caron Fabrication, Tiger Sportsman Triple Crown Series, a 75 lap main event for the Dalton Mountain Motorsports / Caron’s Towing Tiger Sportsman. Also on the card will be the Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association out of the State of Maine plus the Caron Fabrication Street Stocks, Claudette and Dean’s Place Daredevils, Mom’s North Country Powersports UTV Side-By-Side Front-Stretch Drags, Spectator Drags and the always popular Kids Candy Scramble. Post time once again is 6pm.
