BUNKER HODGDON FILES 1ST ENTRY FOR WINTER BLAST 100
As the North Country continues to receive lots of fresh snow and early season wintry weather, race teams are gearing up for the most entertaining event of the race season, the Winter Blast 100 snow race at Speedway 51 powered by the Autosaver Group in Groveton, New Hampshire.
Wolcott, Vermont’s, Bunker Hodgdon has filed the first entry for the winter extravaganza scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2019; at 2pm. Hodgdon has chosen Dennis Boardman as his passenger and co-pilot for the big event. Hodgdon won back to back Street Stock titles in 2016 and 2017 before taking the 2018 Tiger Sportsman Rookie of the Year title. This will be his toughest racing challenge of them all.
The Winter Blast 100 is a very unique event as it is held on a very snow covered and icy racing surface and the driver may carry a passenger with them. The race is run Enduro style with only red and green flags being used and the race is only stopped for an emergency situation. Last year 103 cars, trucks and mini-vans competed in the Winter Blast 100 event. Rules and entry blanks can be found on the left side of our website.
Entry fee for this event is $25, passenger fee is $25, and pit fee will be $20. General admission for the grandstands will be $12 for adults, $10 for Seniors 62 & up, ages 12-16 are just $5, and kids eleven and under are free. Post time will be 2pm on Saturday, January 19th, and a severe weather make-up date has been scheduled for Sunday, January 20th at 2pm.
