Wolcott, Vermont racing veteran, Brendan Moodie is set to take his storied racing career up a notch in 2018 as he plans a full on assault of Speedway 51 and Thunder Roads Late Model divisions. The 32 year old driver got his feet wet in a Late Model at Speedway 51 last year in the five race mini-series, and now has plans to run the full season at both tracks.
Moodie will graduate from the Tiger Sportsman class at both Speedways, a class that he has dominated at Speedway 51 as he has captured the championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Moodie also has had great success at Thunder Road where he has one Tiger championship, one Street Stock championship, and is a six time runner-up in the point battle for Tigers at Thunder Road.
Brendan started his racing career 20 years ago as a twelve year old in a Street Stock, at the former Riverside Speedway. He has continued to race, and has become a fan favorite throughout the years. Brendan’s kids are following him in the sport of racing, as they compete in the weekly Go-Kart Series at Speedway 51. Young Brendan is 10 years old, while his daughter Chloe is just 7 and loves to compete. It is a family effort to keep everyone racing, and Brendan’s wife Christy is the anchor of the family. The race team has support this year from The Sunset Motel, the Charlmont Restaurant, and Keene’s Quality Used Cars.
